Hand lift net fishing

Pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 38 et seq. of Regional Law 31/2017, the fishing sling nets existing on 1 August 2017 and not intended for professional fishing are authorised annually for fishing activities, with a specific provision issued by the territorially competent Municipality, subject to the presentation of a specific application accompanied by a copy of the due concessions for the use of public property: concession of the stretch of water, concession of the Reclamation Consortium, declaration of recreational activity and any further documentation required by the body issuing the authorisation. The authorisation of the sling net is subject to the payment of a fee determined by the municipal administration.

The catch limit for each sling net is set at 20 kg per week and each catch must be recorded immediately on the appropriate forms provided for each sling net by the Municipality and in the manner set out in the permit.

Fishers who carry out their activity by means of an authorised and installed sling net in inland waters must meet the requirements for sport fishing, i.e. must have paid the yearly or intra-year fee for sport fishing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and are not obliged to record their catches in their DRA/DRI (document for yearly or intra-year records).

Recreational fishing with sling nets must follow the temporary fishing bans in the sport fishing Calendar, CPS.
